Frequently asked questions

What is laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal is a safe and effective FDA-approved cosmetic procedure. The laser treatment permanently removes unwanted facial and body hair. Once the hair follicles are destroyed, they are incapable of growing hair.

Does Laser Hair Removal Hurt?

Depending on your personal sensitivity and area being treated, laser hair removal feels either like nothing or tiny pinpricks.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of treatments required for long-term benefits depends on the area being treated, your hair density, the hair’s growth cycle and your hormonal health condition. There are three phases of hair growth — Anagen (active), Catagen (regression) and Telogen (resting). Laser technology is designed to treat hair in the Anagen phase of growth. Although each client is unique, in most cases you can expect an average of 6-9 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

How do I prepare for treatments?

-Shave 24 hour before the treatment.

-Avoid all sun exposure (including tanning beds) and wear sunscreen as part of your daily routine for at least 2 weeks prior to your treatment.

-No tweezing, threading, waxing, epilating, or bleaching for at least 2 weeks prior to your treatment.

-No Botox or dermal fillers in the area to be treated for two weeks prior to your treatment.

-Discontinue use of photosensitizing medications, facial peels, Retin A or Renova, and all sunless tanning products 7 days before treatment.

-We do not treat clients who have used Accutane or similar products within the last 6 months, have active cold sores or are pregnant or suffer from Epileptic seizures.

Am I a candidate for laser hair removal treatments?

Hair removal lasers work best on dark, coarse hair. Some with blonde, gray, or red body hair might not achieve desired results when undergoing laser hair removal. Lighter hair is more difficult to treat and will require more sessions. White or grey hair might be untreatable, as no pigment exists.
